Features

Example results screens

The results from TANDEM are printed directly into a series of Excel spreadsheets. The results are divided up into those for the milking heifers, cows, and whole herd respectively. The tabular data helps to show the results of the 'What if' analysis with columns of information representing the different management scenarios.

You can extend TANDEM by conducting your own calculations in the surrounding cells, drawing on information held within the main tables.

Examples of tables and charts are shown below.

Tabular outputs:

All Year Round Calving
This sheet displays the results for all animals in herd in year 5
This herd has a VWP of 45 days, an HDR or 90% and a conception rate to all services of 55%. This represents a very good level of fertility.

Graphical outputs:

A range of standard charts are used to display the changing nature of the herd during the final year of the simulation. The split between milking cows and heifers is kept clear, as is the distinction between calving months. Use these charts to identify your herd's strengths and weaknesses.

You may also find value in applying the milk production calculations to your quota management regime for your milk buyer.
